FLY FISHING SECTION ANOUNCEMENT

BMAA have to sadly announce that its fly fishery will close on October 26th. Hansons have given us one months notice to stop fishing here so that they can use the lake as an operational silt trap. No-one will be allowed to fish it from that date.

We have obtained a section 30 (fish movement order) from the Environment Agency to allow us to move as many coarse fish as possible to the nearby Oddstone lake.

From 17th October until 25th October all senior members will be allowed to fish the fly lake. They may use any bait or fishing method. All trout may be taken and all coarse fish moved.

We ask that details of all fish caught are “logged”, with weight and species noted. We would very much like to know how successful this operation is. The details should be sent to the secretary in writing (please don’t ring!!).

That's what I thought Smurf... very few had been caught during the pike days.

You don't need an unhooking mat for a dead fish!
