If you are interested in match fishing (not to serious) throughout this winter on various BMAA waters including rivers, canals and lakes please PM me as soon as possible. My intention is to set up a taster match to gauge interest and then off the back of that organize a series of 6 matches (one per month) on various waters. Low fee's maybe a fiver but I am open to what you guys want? As Ive already said I want to try and run this to suit the members on a casual basis where we can get to talk about our recent good and bad days on Mutual waters and maybe a cheeky beer afterwards. We have 3 interested so far and I would be happy sorting this out for just a few more. I am not an experienced match angler but just fancied giving it a go. So if you think it sound ok PM me or reply to the post. Any Questions post them on here.

Match Report - Manor Park Saturday 19th November:- 9 people turned up for the match, the fishing was very slow with only one bream showing on the day, the wining weight was 9lb but this was only made up with the help of a greed pike taking a small roach but then he hooked himself and was landed! 2nd place was 2.5lbs made up of small silvers and 3rd just 1.8lbs.
Winner - Garry Beardmore £35
2nd - Gary Lees £10
3rd - Richard Hemming
Never the less the a decent turn out for the first outing (mainly thanks to Ike for bringing some guests). I will post the next match details in this section over the next few days so look out for that. We will be looking at fishing the Trent by Repton on Sunday 11th December. I will confirm meeting place and times soon. Remember this is open to non members as well so feel free to let friends know about the match. We did nearly have to call the last match off due to lack of support so if you know anybody who may be interested please forward them my number 07973 280984.
in the mean time If you fancy putting your name down for the next match please PM me ASAP to reserve your peg.
cheers

To clarify the match venue - car park 11 in the BMAA year book, shown on google earth as meadow lane, milton. We have fished the stretch today and it's easy enough to find. had a couple of monster dace and small chub so we should have a decent match.
After speaking to a guy on the phone today apparently lots of people know metalworks lane as the road on the left just after the trent bridge going into willington from repton. sorry for any confusion caused.

hello Garry,
just been checking the venue on google earth. there are 2 car park 11's. is it the one to the west or east of meadow lane, (left or right of meadow lane when coming from the south)?
cheers

There are actually four car park 11s. One is at the end of meadow lane juat through the first locked gate. One is several hundred yards upstream (drive along the river til you can go no further (rough and rutted!). One you drive downstream following the farmers tracks and is on the left surrounded by trees. If you follow the farm track further the carpark is as far as you can get by car, the track is a bit slippy but not too bad.
